Senior UN Official: Diplomacy Remains the Only Possible Path Forward Regarding Iran

Rosemary DiCarlo, UN Deputy Secretary-General, stated that despite ongoing disagreements over Iran's nuclear program, diplomacy remains the only viable path forward. She said the Secretary-General calls on all parties to participate constructively and in good faith to achieve a peaceful, comprehensive, and sustainable solution to Iran's nuclear issue; in accordance with the objectives of Resolution 2231 and the broader goal of strengthening international peace and security. She referenced the Islamabad understanding as evidence of continued diplomatic efforts.
