Israeli reporter warns week between Israel and US elections could be most dangerous of 2026

A period of about a week between Israel’s election on October 27 and the U.S. midterm election on November 3 could be “the most dangerous week of 2026,” reporter Amit Siegal of Israel’s Channel 12 said. He warned that heightened tensions during that window could shift markets and public attention to security issues and raised the possibility of the outbreak of a war or a military operation in that timeframe. Siegal also said that if Tehran delays action until after both elections, there would be electoral consequences — including possible effects on votes for Trump — and that a U.S. response in that scenario might be limited or different.
