According to Iran International, two to four kilometers of the Israeli border are being prepared. The report states the initial plan includes establishing a number of military positions on Lebanese soil and bringing the line of Israeli troop deployment closer to the border. This line is intended to replace the current security zone, which covers a larger portion of southern Lebanon. Kan reported the plan is not final and has not been approved by Israeli political leaders. How vacated areas will be handed over to the Lebanese army and how to prevent Hezbollah forces from returning to those areas also remain under review.
