Man accused of killing teenage daughter arrested

A brutal father who killed his daughter in front of people was tried at Tehran Province Criminal Court. The case of this man, which had drawn significant public attention at the time of the crime, was opened a year ago when he murdered his 17-year-old daughter named Fatima in Islamshahr.

• The defendant stated: "I went home and found that my wife had changed the lock on the door and my clothes were in the yard. I slept in the yard for a few hours, then cut the lock and entered. I found that she had taken valuable items and documents with her. I searched for them for a while but couldn't find them until I went in front of a beauty salon. I asked a woman to call Fatima; when my daughter came out, she asked me why I had come and why I was bringing shame to us. I hadn't slept for a week and I had no control over myself. I became very angry and suddenly I came to myself at a woman's scream. She was screaming and calling for help; that's when I realized I had stabbed my daughter with a knife.".
