Rouhollah Rahimpoor: Iran's Attacks on Ships Violate Freedom of Navigation

Ruhollah Rahimpoor, a political analyst, told Iran International that the Islamic Republic’s continued attacks on commercial ships and regional countries, in addition to violating the principle of freedom of navigation, have led to greater convergence among Europe, the United States, NATO, and regional countries. According to him, with Tehran having lost the Strait of Hormuz leverage and finding itself in a weaker position in negotiations, it is trying to raise its bargaining power by escalating tensions; a course that could pave the way for tougher measures against the Islamic Republic and even heighten the risk of military confrontation.
