EU foreign policy chief: The Strait of Hormuz should be open without tolls The European Union’s foreign policy chief said today that freedom of navigation must be respected and that no tolls should be charged for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Kaja Kallas, speaking to reporters before entering the meeting of the European Council of Foreign Ministers in Brussels, said: “Today we will discuss messages to emphasize keeping the Strait of Hormuz open. We stress the need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz without tolls.”
