Pezeshkian: Universities Must Enter the Arena of Problem-Solving The President, speaking at a specialized meeting with university professors, said universities must move away from being purely educational environments and enter the arena of problem-solving. In this model, students are trained in the field of practice alongside their education, and by gaining real experience, they become capable managers, problem-identifiers, and decision-makers for the country’s future. Responsibilities must be assigned based on individuals’ ability, merit, and efficiency, not on factional, political, or unprofessional relationships. If a manager cannot properly control resource and energy consumption within the organization under their management, their efficiency should be questioned. The pay system must be based on performance, productivity, and the extent to which individuals create value. Continuing practices in which there is no difference between hard-working and underperforming individuals is not consistent with the principles of scientific management and justice, and universities can play an effective role in designing and reforming these mechanisms.
