Newly Released Images of 'Heliya' Cubs
Newly released images of "Helia's" cubs, an Asian leopard, show them in good health and calm conditions. In recent days, environmental rangers and civil groups have released videos of their efforts to protect Iran's leopard; images showing that volunteers on the Abbas Abad–Miami corridor are working alongside environmental rangers to reduce the risk of vehicle collisions with leopards through driver awareness campaigns and requests to reduce speed. The director general of environmental protection in North Khorasan also, referring to the favorable condition of "Helia's" cubs, stated that the safety of this family is the result of months of continuous monitoring by environmental rangers, experts, and environmental supporters. The Abbas Abad–Miami corridor is one of the most important transit corridors for Asian leopards in Iran; a species whose population in Iran's nature has severely declined and road accidents remain one of the primary threats to its survival.
