Lebanese media reports Lebanese foreign ministry insists on Muhammad Reza Rauf Shibili

A Lebanese media outlet reported on Saturday that despite the Lebanese Foreign Ministry's insistence on its decision to declare Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani, the expelled Iranian ambassador, a "persona non grata," he remains present at the embassy. The newspaper L'Orient-Le Jour wrote: "He still (at least most of the time) remains within the walls of his country's embassy; relying on the support of Nabih Berri, the Speaker of Parliament, as well as the immunity he enjoys." On Thursday, Sami Gemayel, head of the Kataeb Party, protested on social media platform X against Sheibani's continued presence in Beirut. Previously, the U.S. Treasury Department had sanctioned Sheibani due to his links to Hezbollah.
