Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization: air dispatches to the holy shrines will begin

Flights to the holy sites will resume by air, while land trips continue, the deputy head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said. He told Fars (Telegram) that: ▸ Land pilgrimages will continue uninterrupted in Mehr; so far 23,000 places for Mehr pilgrimages have been opened and all are for land travel. ▸ Last month departures included both land and air options and about 50,000 places were offered; roughly 70% of those places were filled. ▸ By mid-Shahrivar about 10,000 people traveled with official caravans; in Mehr 8,000 people have registered so far for trips through the end of the month. ▸ Iran’s flights to Najaf restarted after a 10-day pause, and air departures for pilgrimage caravans are expected to be launched within roughly 10 days.
