New York Times: Iran has become a more formidable competitor to the United States

The New York Times reported that Iran has become a tougher rival for the United States in recent months because its military tactics have improved, the paper wrote. The American newspaper said defending against Iranian missiles now requires more interceptor missiles, which places additional strain on U.S. weapons stockpiles that were already under pressure. U.S. commanders have also expressed concern about rising difficulty in countering attacks by Iran on bases hosting U.S. forces, energy facilities and other infrastructure in the region.
