Attacks on energy-carrying vessels and insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz continue to represent one of the most significant threats to shipping, global energy security, and the revenue of several regional countries. Although the UAE has mitigated some of its oil exports from this crisis by establishing alternative routes, the International Maritime Organization continues to warn of the consequences of the conflict for shipping and global trade.
