Iran and Qatar resume maritime trade after roughly five-month hiatus. Qatar's Ministry of Transport announced it has resumed shipping activities and maritime transit with Iran. Iran's commercial attaché in Doha confirmed that maritime trade between the two countries has been restored "after approximately five months." Qatar's Ministry of Transport stated in a post on social media platform X that this freedom of movement covers "all types of vessels and ships" and emphasized that "necessary safety and security equipment is available." The statement comes days after the ministry had requested owners and users of all non-commercial vessels, including recreational boats, fishing boats, jet skis, and similar vessels, to suspend their maritime activities and operations.

• Abbas Abdolkhani, Iran's commercial attaché in Qatar, told Iranian media that "through continuous follow-up by the Islamic Republic's embassy in Doha and coordination with relevant Qatari government officials," maritime cargo transport between Port Dayer and Port Al-Ruwais has resumed.. Qatar, alongside Pakistan, serves as mediator in Iran-U.S. negotiations.
