Seyed Javad Hosseini: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's Intellectual System in the Horizon of 'Well-being'

Seyyed Javad Hosseini, Head of the Organization for Welfare and Social Services of Iran, wrote in a note: The management of social welfare at the level of the Islamic system cannot and should not be defined solely within the scope of minimal distribution of subsidies, continuous pension payments, and provision of livelihood. Well-being is a concept that transcends material support; well-being in its profound and humanitarian meaning is "living well"—that is, creating conditions wherein a person, with all their capacities, talents, and existential potentials, can lead a dignified, active, and impactful life.

• Justice in the realm of social policy does not mean merely equal and uniform distribution of resources among all members of society.
• Distributive justice is necessary, but it is not sufficient.. Where a segment of society faces compounded historical, social, cultural, economic, or biological deprivations, justice demands that these groups be placed in priority.
