Aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle returns to France

French Navy announced that the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier returned today to its home port in Toulon after five and a half months of operational deployment. The carrier's mission covered more than 40,000 nautical miles, during which the Charles de Gaulle task force operated in the Atlantic Ocean, the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Indian Ocean. According to the French Navy, the Charles de Gaulle task force initially participated in NATO activities in Northern Europe, but was later deployed to the Mediterranean Sea following the deterioration of the security situation in the Middle East. Subsequently, with the outbreak of war between Israel and America with Iran, the task force was transferred to the Indian Ocean to counter threats to maritime shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and restore freedom of navigation, according to the French Navy.
