Mehdi Taj, head of the Football Federation, announced in an interview with state media that Amir Qalaieno'i will be on the bench of the national football team at the 2027 AFC Asian Cup: "Mr. Qalaieno'i is present and we have made plans for him for the Asian Cup, and we will soon begin training sessions for FIFA competitions." The Football Federation head stated: "There are also some changes that need to happen in the national teams, which will be implemented."
