Execution sentences for 12 defendants in Isfahan's Alikhani Square case confirmed

Dey Protests; Death Sentences for 12 Defendants in Isfahan’s “Ali Khani Square” Case “Upheld” The Committee for the Follow-up of the Situation of Detainees in Iran says the death sentences of 12 Dey protesters in Isfahan, in the case known as the city’s “Ali Khani Square” case, have been “upheld” by the Supreme Court. According to the committee’s report, published on Saturday, July 10, sending this case to the execution office of Isfahan Revolutionary Court has increased the likelihood of the imminent execution of the detainees in the case. Among these 12 people, some of whom have been sentenced to death two, three, and even four times, there are several teenagers and one Afghan citizen. The case dates back to the events of January 8, 2026, in the Ali Khani Square area, between Melkshahr and Kaveh in Isfahan, where Islamic Republic officials said four Basij and special forces members named Hossein Ramezani, Mohammad Hemmati, Seyed Ali Khoshoushi, and Valiollah Safri were killed. Following their deaths, 59 people were arrested in Isfahan and a broad case was opened against them.
