Heart Patients

Story summary
Individuals with heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, respiratory diseases, kidney failure, the elderly, pregnant women, and those taking specific medications must be more cautious than others regarding heat exposure, dehydration, and fatigue resulting from prolonged presence in crowds.
- One of the most common problems at large gatherings is forgetting daily medications. Physicians recommend that individuals with chronic diseases carry their necessary medications for that day and take them at their scheduled times.
- Individuals with heart disease or those with a history of heart attack, angioplasty, heart surgery, or heart failure should preferably avoid prolonged presence in extremely crowded and congested areas.
- Air temperature, dehydration, prolonged standing, and pressure from crowding can increase the heart's demand for oxygen. Should symptoms appear such as: chest pain or pressure, pain radiating to the arm, neck or jaw, severe shortness of breath, cold sweats, and sudden weakness, one should not delay. The individual should immediately proceed to the nearest emergency personnel or ambulance stationed along the route.
