On Friday, July 10, China revealed a collection of powerful microwave weapons that, according to the country's defense researchers, have output capacity reaching 100 gigawatts. Based on an article published by researchers at China's National University of Defense Technology, the country has in recent years developed a series of advanced systems based on high-energy pulse technology to generate powerful microwave waves. Instead of using explosives, these weapons emit highly powerful microwave pulses toward targets and can disrupt or disable electronic circuits, communication systems, radars, and drones. Chinese researchers also state that this technology can target satellite networks in low Earth orbit (LEO), including Starlink, at a much lower cost than conventional systems.
