IRGC commander congratulates Mehrdad Akhlaqi on appointment as defense minister

The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ahmad Vahidi, congratulated Mehrdad Akhlaqi on receiving parliament’s strong vote of confidence and his appointment as minister of defence and armed forces logistics, and said the outcome underlines the need to continue the path of the late Amir Nasirzadeh to strengthen the ministry’s strategic capacities at this critical time, according to Etemad.

Ahmad Vahidi issued a similar message, again congratulating Akhlaqi on the parliamentary approval and appointment and reiterating that the development highlights the necessity of continuing the “power-building and prideful” path of the late Amir Nasirzadeh to bolster the defence ministry’s strategic capabilities during the current decisive period, according to Fararu.
