Joint Statement by European Union and Gulf Cooperation Council Against Iran

In a joint statement on the Strait of Hormuz, the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council once again repeated their anti-Iran claims regarding freedom of navigation and recent developments in this strategic waterway. Kaja Kallas, the EU foreign policy chief, and Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s foreign minister, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council, issued a joint statement on the Strait of Hormuz on Monday evening after the High-Level Forum on Security and Regional Cooperation was held in Brussels.
