Masoud Pezeshkian Reacted to US Attacks on Positions in Southern Iran
Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to U.S. attacks on positions in the country’s south on Tuesday, Tir 23, wrote on the social media platform X, recalling the historical record of the southern regions: “In history, southern Iran has always been a symbol of resistance against colonialism and the defense of independence. Today too, the noble people of this land are enduring the difficult days caused by the enemy’s aggression with patience, steadfastness, and perseverance, and are emerging from them with dignity. I stand with, and am grateful to, this loyal and resilient people.” Pezeshkian concluded his message with the words, “All of Iran is my home.” In recent days, after the ceasefire ended, southern areas of the country in the provinces of Bushehr, Hormozgan, and Sistan and Baluchestan have come under air strikes by U.S. military forces. The United States says these strikes were focused on military areas and facilities and equipment linked to attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
