IRIB: No explosion occurred in Bandar Abbas and islands

Following the انتشار of reports on social media claiming explosions in some parts of Iran, IRIB News Agency and the South Khorasan Governor’s Office denied these reports. These denials were issued separately, with references to the “media narrative-building” by some outlets. Meanwhile, a Tasnim reporter in Fars Province also denied reports of an attack on Lar County.

• IRIB News Agency said that, contrary to reports circulating on social media and the narrative-building by some media outlets, no explosion has occurred so far in Bandar Abbas, Hengam Island, Larak, Qeshm, Jask, or Sirik.
• The South Khorasan Governor’s Office also said that, contrary to reports circulating on social media, no explosion has occurred so far in Birjand.
• The political, security, and social deputy governor of South Khorasan also confirmed this report.
• Follow-up by Tasnim’s reporter in Fars Province indicates that reports published regarding an attack by the “American enemy” on Lar County are untrue and are being denied.
• The Hormozgan Governor’s Office has announced that so far there has been no incident in Sirik County.
• The Iranian daily Etemad, citing Tasnim, reported that several “violating” ships were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz.. Coverage difference: Media outlets such as ISNA, Didban Iran, Entekhab, Khabar Fori, Rooydad24, Tejarat News, IRIB News, Akhbar Fori, Shargh daily, and Etemad daily mainly focused on the denials by IRIB and the South Khorasan Governor’s Office of reports about explosions in various parts of Iran. Some of these outlets, such as Jamaran, Tejarat News, and Etemad daily, in addition to IRIB’s denial, also referred to Tasnim’s denial of the explosion report in Lar and the Hormozgan Governor’s Office’s statements regarding Sirik. Etemad daily, citing Tasnim, also added coverage of the report that several ships were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz, which was not mentioned by other sources.
