Mearsheimer: War with Iran Entered 'Action-Reaction' Phase

Tehran - IRNA - A professor of international relations at the University of Chicago said: “If we climb further up the escalation ladder, in my view it will be Iran that has the upper hand, not us. That was just one of the reasons why, after forty days, we stopped the air war. If you put the air war and the naval blockade side by side, you will see they were both based on a common assumption: that Iran could be pressured so much that it would raise its hands and surrender. By now, it should be completely clear to those advocating a return to war that Iran can withstand an enormous amount of pressure.”
