Federal judge in Florida allows human-rights lawsuit against Parviz Sabeti to proceed
Manshur brief
A federal judge in Florida denied Parviz Sabeti's request to halt a civil lawsuit, clearing the way for further proceedings against him on allegations of human-rights violations, plaintiffs say. Plaintiffs told MANSUR they learned Sabeti's residence only after his daughter posted a photo of him at an anti-government demonstration in 2023. The plaintiffs are three Iranian men living in California, aged between 68 and 85, who say they were among thousands detained by SAVAK as opponents of the Shah and were subjected to torture and mistreatment they allege was ordered directly by Sabeti. In their complaint, they say their SAVAK interrogators used methods including “sexual assault,” “electrical shocks” and “forced removal of fingernails.” Sources: HamMihan and Fars (Telegram).
