Saeed Leylaz: With 90% inflation and insufficient wages, the government should change course

According to Etemad newspaper, a society facing 90 percent inflation and wages that do not cover expenses for even the first ten days of the month needs to be heard, met with empathy and calm more than it needs threats and bluster. Society cannot be constantly governed with a negative, regulatory tone; the country needs neutral, efficient and professional media platforms for an honest national dialogue—an element that is, regrettably, glaringly absent at present. The heads of government, from the Supreme Leader to Mr. Pezeshkian and the heads of the three branches of power, have the capacity to immediately change course. People must tangibly and concretely feel that the authorities are striving with dedication and sincerity to manage their livelihoods.
