Kremlin: Trump's Stance on Ukraine War Has Been Consistent

The Kremlin says that Donald Trump's position on the Ukraine war has been "steady and coherent," and claims by those saying he frequently changes his mind on this matter are unfounded. Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, speaking after a telephone call between Vladimir Putin, Russia's president, and the U.S. president, added that Donald Trump is "receptive to hearing information that Putin provides to him" and the two presidents have "reached an understanding that their contacts will continue in the near future." The U.S. president spoke by phone with Vladimir Putin for nearly 90 minutes two days ago, before the NATO summit in Turkey. He also had a telephone call with Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine's president. Mr. Trump's diplomatic efforts to end the Ukraine war have largely stalled due to his focus on confrontation with Iran.
