Alamut Castle added to UNESCO World Heritage list

Alamut Castle has been registered as the thirty-first world heritage site of Iran. The International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the advisory body to UNESCO, recently recommended the inscription of this historical fortress on the World Heritage List.
