The Treasury Department on Thursday, Mehr 16, expanded sanctions against individuals, entities and vessels it says are linked to Iran. According to a U.S. Treasury statement, 22 ships and tankers were listed on suspicion of cooperating with Iran’s “shadow fleet” and as part of efforts to “economically isolate” Iran. Among them the Treasury identified three tankers registered in Honduras; three vessels flagged in Panama; three ships flagged in the Comoros; two vessels flagged in Gambia; two tankers flagged in Cameroon; and nine vessels registered under flags including Hong Kong or China, Mongolia, the Bahamas, Sierra Leone, Palau, Vanuatu, Tanzania, San Marino and Barbados.
