Rahimpour Azghadi defended Imam Khomeini's apostasy fatwa for Salman Rushdie

Hassan Rahimpour Azghdi, defending Imam Khomeini’s fatwa against Salman Rushdie, said that if this ruling had not been issued, there would be “thousands of other Salman Rushdies” today. He described the fatwa as a deterrent measure and said that issuing such a ruling had prevented the spread of insults against Islamic sanctities.
