Thief arrested

An amateur thief disrupted telecommunications in southern Khorasan Razavi by damaging fiber optic cables. According to the special governor of Mashhad, this afternoon a thief attempting to steal copper cables in the "Rabat Sepid" area caused damage to the fiber optic network of the infrastructure company, resulting in telecommunications and mobile phone outages or disruptions in southern cities of the province. Seyyed Hassan Hosseini stated: Around 5 p.m., a thief in the area between "Malik Abad" and Rabat Sepid burned the fiber optic copper cables of the province's infrastructure company in an attempt to steal them and determine the nature of the wire, but this action resulted in the destruction and severing of the fiber optic cables, which are made of non-metallic material.| IRNA
