President of Ukraine: I have announced resumption of attacks on Russian oil refineries

Ukraine will resume attacks on Russian oil refineries, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the Financial Times, according to Voice of America Persian. He said "the restriction on strikes on refineries has been lifted." ▸ VOA Persian reported that the United States had previously asked Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian refineries to help lower fuel prices, and that Donald Trump announced a phased injection of 4.8 million tonnes of diesel into global markets reportedly agreed with Vladimir Putin. ▸ Zelensky criticized what he described as Washington’s interest in trade deals with Moscow and "Trump’s obvious fondness for Putin," and said U.S. counterparts warned that "if you do not stop strikes on energy facilities, we will cut intelligence cooperation," per the VOA Persian account. ▸ Zelensky told the FT that Ukraine would only stop strikes on Russian energy facilities in exchange for receiving additional U.S.-made Patriot interceptor missiles.
