American media reported that Rahman Allah Lokanwal, accused of a deadly shooting of National Guard members near the White House, has been transferred to a hospital in "critical" condition after refusing food and water. According to court documents, prosecutors stated this action was taken to "preserve his life," and his physical condition has been placed at serious risk due to prolonged refusal of nutrition. The 30-year-old defendant faces 17 charges, including first-degree murder, and if convicted, could face capital punishment. Lokanwal is accused of killing one National Guard member and severely wounding another last November. He has rejected the charges in court proceedings. The case remains under judicial review.
