Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: Iran to Arrange Reopening of Strait of Hormuz

Foreign Ministry spokesman: The memorandum explicitly states that the arrangements for reopening the Strait of Hormuz are to be carried out by Iran. In essence, Article 5 of the memorandum is not open to interpretation for the Americans to make decisions based on their own reading. Instead of allowing Iran to reopen the strait in accordance with the memorandum, the Americans cheated from the very beginning and, by inciting and collaborating with regional countries, tried to bypass the path coordinated with Iran. In doing so, the United States not only violated the memorandum, but also endangered maritime security and further escalated tensions and conflict in the region.
