Al Hadath: mediation efforts in Iran–US talks have reached a deadlock
Manshur brief
Mediation efforts to resolve the dispute between Iran and the United States have reached an impasse, Al-Hadath reported, citing a senior U.S. official. The official said the United States "sent a message to the Iranians that until Iran’s nuclear capabilities are limited, there will be no progress" in bilateral talks. The official also said that after Iran — according to the U.S. claim — "lost control over the Strait of Hormuz," the waterway is no longer a priority for Washington. He added that the U.S. now wants Tehran to "acknowledge it will not further develop its nuclear capabilities." Tehran has rejected the U.S. claims and says it remains in control of the strategic Strait of Hormuz. (Source: Al-Hadath)
