Donald Trump, the President of the United States, warned Iran that if a final agreement is not reached through diplomacy, the United States is prepared to completely destroy Iran's infrastructure "in a small part of one afternoon." Speaking to reporters at an event held at the White House, he said: "In any case, we will win. Either we reach an agreement or we finish the job, right? And finishing the job won't be difficult either." Trump added: "I prefer to reach an agreement because I don't want 91 million people to be harmed. We can destroy their bridges within an hour. We can shut down their energy supply network."

• The U.S. President elaborated further, stating: "We can shut down their electricity and power plants. And in my view, in a small part of one afternoon, all power plants will be destroyed. And they themselves know this."
• Following ceasefire negotiations, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 15, which extended the ceasefire for 60 days, during which negotiations on Iran's nuclear program are scheduled to take place.
