Donald Trump Announced Full Blockade Against Iran-Linked Ships
Donald Trump announced on Truth Social the imposition of a full blockade against vessels linked to the Islamic Republic, saying the blockade includes ships that travel to Iranian ports or carry cargo related to Iran. He added that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all maritime traffic except traffic linked to the Islamic Republic. Trump thanked Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of War, Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, and the U.S. military, and described the leaders of the Islamic Republic as “liars, violent, and malicious.” He also announced that he would replace the collection of a 20 percent fee for passage through the Strait of Hormuz with trade agreements and Gulf states’ investment in the United States, saying these investments would create millions of new jobs. He concluded by stressing that the Islamic Republic will never obtain nuclear weapons.
