A terrifying encounter in Gujarat, India, in which an Asiatic lion held a local herder in its grip for approximately 30 minutes, has been captured on camera. The man ultimately escaped the lion's claws by maintaining composure. He sustained injuries to several parts of his body and is recovering in a hospital. Gujarat, India is the only place in the world where Asiatic lions live freely in their natural habitat, with 891 lions recorded in the latest census.
