More than two weeks have passed since the mad disruption of several major banks in the country, yet during this time the economy minister has only been troubled enough to issue follow-up orders twice, and the Central Bank, with its dark silence, continues to trample on the nation’s nerves. In any other backward country, if such an astonishing disaster had occurred, the responsible officials would by now have been turned into coins and handed over to the people. But here, this is the land of wonders, the land of repetition and recurrence and the déjà vu of crises. The land of buried dreams and an unseen future.
