Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: We Expected Cooperation from Oman

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: We had expected our Omani friends to cooperate as needed. Baqaei said at today’s press briefing, in response to Oman’s positions regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz and the reopening of the southern route in this waterway: “The memorandum of understanding explicitly states that Iran, in consultation with Oman, will determine the necessary measures for the future administration of the Strait of Hormuz. This is a sign of respect for Oman’s sovereignty as a coastal state of the Strait of Hormuz, and in fact, we had also expected our Omani friends to cooperate as needed in this regard.” / Jamaran
